This facility is part of the Bologna Tecnopolo hub, which also houses \u2018<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ceflaengineering.com\/en\/news\/cefla-will-build-the-new-data-center-for-cineca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Leonardo<\/a><\/strong>\u2019, one of the world\u2019s most powerful supercomputers and a vital asset for the Italian and European scientific community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cineca recently obtained internationally recognised \u2018<strong>LEED BD+C: Data Centers &#8211; Platinum Level<\/strong>\u2019 certification, the highest level possible, making it one of the world\u2019s 11 most sustainable data centers, three of which are in Italy.<br>LEED stands for \u2018Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design\u2019. The most widespread international protocol for sustainable buildings, it certifies the well-being of the people who occupy them by acknowledging the high-quality indoor environments and low-level CO<sub>2<\/sub> emissions. Consequently, LEED is fast becoming the new global standard for eco-compatible construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The &#8220;green data&#8221; center<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This achievement makes Bologna Tecnopolo a center of excellence for high-performance computing and sustainable construction, combining computational power with environmental responsibility.
