NewTom SafeBeam™. The utmost attention to the patient’s health.

NewTom pays the utmost attention to the patient’s health

The CBCT, characterized by cone-beam X-rays, allows very detailed images of bone tissues to be obtained, in a very short time, which can be used in various fields, such as implantology, maxillofacial surgery, orthopaedics and recently veterinary medicine.
Use of the CBCT is becoming increasingly widespread, both for its better diagnostic quality in specialized areas, and for the low dosage emitted from the unit. This is more frequently pointed out when negotiating.

SafeBeam™ Technology

To protect the patient’s health, for several years the NewTom devices have already provided the use of SafeBeam™ technology, which adapts the radiation emitted to the type of patient, avoiding the risk of overexposure.

Only the necessary dosage

In addition, NewTom offers a series of fields of view (FOV), which fit the specific needs of each type of investigation.
The selection of the field of view, which allows you to vary the exposure based on the size of the anatomic district to be examined, follows the international principle ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable), calling for exposures to be taken to levels that are as low as reasonably achievable to obtain an effective diagnosis.

ECO Mode

Finally, in order to further reduce the emitted dosage, it will be possible to carry out all scans in “ECO mode”. Recently introduced to further benefit the patient’s health, the ECO mode allows one to drastically reduce the dosage, if necessary and desirable.
Thanks to its twenty years of experience in the production of CBCT and 2D devices, NewTom offers these tools on all of its devices.
