How innovation became part of the company culture in the 80’s

Half way through the 80’s, Cefla recognised the need to commit itself to researching new technologies and undertaking activities in neighbouring fields, a policy which would ensure a solid future for a company that had just turned 50 years old.

The first business sector to be involved in research activities was the painting and decoration sector. Financed in part by government subsidies, experiments were carried out in the aim of developing automatic painting systems for wood panels. The growing awareness regarding environmental issues required further research into water treatment systems and technologies. A department dedicated to automation was set up and took care of processes using robotics for the assembly of mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronic components.

However, over and above the products or systems developed by Cefla in those years, more important was the way in which an authentic technological culture arose within the company, whose vision was set on the future.

Today Cefla is known for its future-oriented approach. Product and process innovation are the drivers which have brought about business success stories in many market areas where technological innovation is key. From 3D radiology by #CeflaMedicalEquipment to building automation developed by #CeflaEngineering. From #CeflaFinishing anthropomorphic robots to proximity marketing devices and systems that come from the joint activities of #CLED and #CeflaShopfitting.
