1960, Cefla seizes the growing market opportunities

With the 40’s and 50’s behind them, Cefla seized the growing market opportunities. Thanks to one of the key figures at the time, Terenzio Chiodini, the man behind the iron bed project, the Shopfitting Division was set up in the building specially built in Via Selice in Imola. The year is 1961, Italian GDP grows by 8% and Cefla’s turnover registers +48% compared to the previous year. Terenzio Chiodini happened upon an American magazine portraying supermarket shelving. He studied the shelves closely and put together a sample set after business hours.

Today #CeflaShopfitting, still located at the Via Selice site, develops the Smart Shelving System, a modular display system with a low voltage power supply that connects the display to the customer’s smartphone to enable Proximity Marketing initiatives.
