#Cefla4Future

As you enter the next stage of your life there is a fundamental “self-recognition” period, a time when you need guidance to make the right decisions about your future.

Alongside the technical skills that form part of the school syllabus, soft skills are equally essential. Technical skills alone are not enough. “Specific professions” (e.g. a mathematician who does just mathematics) no longer exist: a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) world and digital transformation processes are modifying the entire career landscape, and we need to promote awareness of that among future generations.

It’s the so-called soft skills – those cross-category skills that bring out the best in everyone’s performance and sharpen your ability to handle the digitalisation process – that make the difference.

To give you a helping hand when it comes to choosing a career path, we’ve established Cefla4Future, a programme involving industry professionals, both private and public sectors, schools and sports/leisure associations, all acting together as “cultural mindset influencers”. These public events allow us to provide careers advice and optimise management of career decisions.

The first event was held with our Rome-based partner ELIS Consortium, a non-profit education provider that focuses on work and people via projects throughout Italy involving companies and schools. Together with Gianluca Sabatini, Head of Management Education at Elis, we concentrated on the importance of personal aptitude, interviewing various figures in the education/training world to provide an experience that was both practical and thought-provoking.

School-Work Experience

We are a part of the Scuola Impresa 4.0 (Business-School 4.0) project with ELIS – Education, Work, Education and Sport, a non-profit body with more than 50 years’ experience in matching worker supply and demand and connecting up schools, universities and businesses. We’re involved in this project as a company that acknowledges the importance of social initiatives by participating in projects that break down accepted stereotypes and steer young people towards the professions of the future.

The goal is to help Italian schools adapt their teaching programmes by giving teachers and students the opportunity to become change-makers and prepare them for tomorrow’s professions, today. On the one hand, the ambition is to support Italian schools as educators and, on the other, to enable an intergenerational changeover within the company by involving students in projects alongside professionals.

Schools that adhere to the “Sistema Scuola Impresa” project will join a network of 100 carefully selected Italian schools, be able to exchange best practices and plan careers advice meetings for their students on company premises (to include tours of the plants). Schoolteachers can gain access to training by signing up to courses provided by participating companies.

An investment that grows over the years.
