Define continual improvement objectives in respect of the environment."
Actions:
Environment friendly production
A significant amount of thermal energy is consumed during the manufacturing process, for example during the finishing phase. Because of this the heat produced is reused to heat our buildings.
Cefla Arredamenti Group carefully manages how it disposes of and recycles industrial waste and carries out the following initiatives:
Water consumption monitoring: 44.000 litres recycled on average during the year.
Recycling of powder and iron waste resulting in 1085 tonnes being recycled on average in a year.
Recycling of "lost" powder paint during the painting phase.
Monitor of waste and percentage recycling in production and office facilities.
Environmentally friendly materials
8B: complete system of dividers made of 100% recycled plastic (PET) and 100% recyclable. To produce 1kg of recycled PET requires 0.2kg of crude oil , whereas virgin PET requires 1.9kg of crude oil. By using these recycled materials approximately 2kg of CO2 are not released into the atmosphere.
Official proposal of accessories in paint or zinc finishes with the aim of reducing and eliminating the use of chrome (no longer present in our catalogue).
Introduction of finishes with increased resistance, ex. Stella o Nerotex which give a greater aesthetic length of life to the product.
Sustainable consumption
With regards to energy consumption reductions we propose LED (Light Emitting Diode) technology for part of its light solutions (range extension in 2010) LED lighting solutions can be characterised as follows:
- Reliability
- Extended length of life: High emission LEDs reach approximately 50000 hour usage, which is the equivalent of 5 times traditional light sources
- Increased efficiency
- Low consumption up to 50% savings compared to traditional fluorescent lighting
- "Clean" light as UV components are absent
- Absence of toxic or poisonous materials, such as mercury
- Components are simple to recycle and dispose of
